On Sunday, August 22, from 4 to 6 PM, there will be a launch party for the new anthology New Orleans: What Can’t Be Lost, edited by Lee Barclay (University of Louisiana Press, 2010).  The celebration will be held at d.b.a. New Orleans, located at 618 Frenchmen Street, New Orleans 70116.  Music will be provided by the Free Agents Brass Band and food by Lil Dizzy’s Cafe.  Julie Kane’s essay “The Purple Martins at the Causeway Bridge” is one of more than eighty creative nonfiction essays about New Orleans included in the collection, which also features work by Jason Berry, Rick Bragg, Robert Olen Butler, Joshua Clark, Andrei Codrescu, Richard Ford, James Nolan, Tom Piazza, Chris Rose, Christine Wiltz, and many other writers associated with New Orleans.
