Benefit Reading for KRVS, Lafayette, April 17 Monday, Apr 12 2010 

Together with Louisiana Poet Laureate Darrell Bourque and Louisiana poets Gail White, Kevin Meaux, Jack Bedell, and Ann Dobie, Julie will be reading her poetry at the upcoming Bookfair to benefit Public Radio station KRVS in Lafayette, Louisiana.  The poetry reading will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, April 17, at the Barnes & Noble Book Store (5705 Johnston Street, Lafayette, LA 70503).  Following the reading, there will be music by Trio del Rio and Michael Juan Nunez.  Call 337-989-4142 for more information.

Louisiana Book Festival Reading, Oct. 17 Wednesday, Oct 14 2009 

On Saturday, October 17, from 12 to 1:15 PM in Baton Rouge, Julie will be reading with an incredible lineup of Louisiana poets, including ZACHARY RICHARD (famed as a Cajun musician, he is also an accomplished French-language poet, with many books published in Canada).  Others on the bill are PETER COOLEY, MARTHA SERPAS, Louisiana Poet Laureate DARRELL BOURQUE, and SADDI KHALI.  We’ll be in Senate Committee Room E of the State Capitol.  The event is part of the Louisiana Book Festival, a daylong affair with lots of readings and talks by writers like Rick Bragg and Ernest Gaines.  Y’all come!
